Pump Blessing and Diamond Jubilee Celbrations

Brigg Town Business Partnership has revived the Pump Blessings on the 1st of June after a year's absence and has incorporated it with a celebration of 60 years since Her Majesty the Queen's Coronation on the 2nd June 1953. Everyone is therefore cordially invited to come along and join in these special thanksgiving celebrations and processions. The streets of Brigg will be adorned with bunting (thank you to North Lincolnshire Council and Brigg Town Council for their support). The shops will be decorated appropriately, on a Royal theme to celebrate this auspicious event. The Pumps in question are located at Grammar School Road South and the County Bridge. Twenty Brownies will be acting as Flower Maidens in the processions carrying baskets with red and white flowers. They will be blessed by Rev Alec Depledge and Rev Enid Knowles at these blessings, special mention will be made of H.M the Queen’s Coronation and remembered in our prayers and good wishes. The Pumps will be dressed with flowers (kindly sponsored by Brigg Rotary). This event will include two grand processions from the Market Place in which the dancing and fun will carry on.   Find out more »
