Event Details

To commemorate the end 80th Anniversary of the end of the war in Japan on 15th August 1945, we are holding a church service starting at 7pm and a concert starting at 7.45pm
Light refreshments will be served at the interval.
The concert is free to attend, everyone is welcome.
There will be a “Last night of the Proms” style finale with flags provided.

VJ Day, or Victory over Japan Day, is the day Japan officially surrendered to the Allies in World War II, effectively ending the war. It is celebrated on August 15th, the day Japan announced its surrender, although the formal surrender ceremony was on September 2nd.
